Announcing the 5th ETSI Hackathon — November 2026 | Granada, Spain + Hybrid
We are excited to announce the 5th ETSI Hackathon, continuing our community-driven effort to develop practical use-cases for the PETSIRD standard for PET list-mode data.
This year’s hackathon will be a 2 full-day hybrid event planned around the 2026 IEEE NSS/MIC/RTSD Conference in Granada, Spain, with candidate dates before or after the MIC portion of the meeting.
Our goal is to bring together researchers, developers, scanner manufacturers, and PET imaging experts from academia and industry to advance PETSIRD implementation and validation through hands-on collaboration. This year, we plan to focus on:
✅ Converters for data from commercial and prototype PET scanners
✅ Test software for standard PET acquisitions
✅ Automated validation of PETSIRD files
✅ Discussion of acquisition protocols for test datasets
✅ Additional use-cases proposed by past and new participants
We especially hope to see strong engagement from PET scanner manufacturers, local institutions, and the broader nuclear medicine imaging community. To help us select the most suitable 2-day period, please complete this short survey by Sunday, June 14, 2026:
