The Emission Tomography Standardization Initiative (ETSI) is an international consortium comprised of worldwide nuclear medicine imaging experts from academia and industry with the mission of defining and facilitating the use of standardized formats for Positron Emission Tomography and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography raw data. The current members roster of the initiative can be found in the ETSI Consortium’s page.

An initial paper from A. Sitek et al. [1] is also acknowledged for first highlighting the need for emission tomography raw data standardization in the field of nuclear medicine.

The Physics Instrumentation and Data Sciences Council (PIDSC) of the Society of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) has been leading the efforts in the formation of ETSI’s consortium of experts and structure of subgroups and the organization of meetings and related events along with the help of other organizations. As the mission of ETSI is the standardization of emission tomography raw data across academia and industry, we anticipate the endorsement and support of its vision and activities by any other scientific and professional societies, institutes and organizations.

The ETSInitiative website has been designed and is currently administered by Nicolas A. Karakatsanis with the continuous support of PIDSC of SNMMI.
